Friday Night Tunes


Running the roads from River Bend, Joe Starr will perform live at Nautical Star Coffee this evening from 5-8 pm. Coming into town you can enjoy live music and sunset with Lexi Bridgers at Lawsons on the Creek with music being shared from 6 - 7:30 pm. Joe Baes will be flying solo on his acoustic tonight at BrUtopia with music starting at 6:30 pm. Moving through the streets downtown tonight, you will find Virginia Rabbit (see photo above) will be in town for two nights at (tonight and tomorrow) Baxter's 1892. Music plays from 7-10 pm and there is a $5.00 music charge for the show. Wren will be in the spotlight at The Brown Pelican with music being offered 7-10 pm. Strolling down the alley and stopping by Pinky's The Upstairs Pub you can enjoy songs with Mickey Spain from 7:30-10:30 pm. Steel County Express will be on the deck at Blackbeard's Triple Play from 7:30-11 pm.

Hey, New Bern if you missed the home tour today be sure to buy your tickets and enjoy it tomorrow because there is lots of music for you to enjoy! All these artists will be a part of the Heritage Homes Tour coming this Saturday, May 4.


You'll find The Biscuits and Gravy at the Attmore-Oliver House between 11 am and 1 pm, as you sit, sip, and enjoy in the tent. Bonafides between 1 and 3 pm and the Down East Dulcimers in Ghent at the Lillie Sara Suskin House at 1617 Rhem Ave, between 1 and 3 pm. Merriwether L. Ferguson House at 1801 Rhem Ave. in Ghent will feature the sounds of Dan Jam Phillips from 1-3 pm. Local favorite Howard Matthews at the Lawrence Gaskins House at 601 Pollock Street between 11 am and 3 pm. Craven Consort and Hoff and Finch will perform at 301 Johnson Street. Craven Consort will play first between 11 am and 1 pm, and Hoff and Finch between 1 pm and 3 pm. They'll liven up your visit!  You'll find Alexandra (Lexi) Bridgers at 301 Hancock Street 11 am and 3 pm. Doctor Paul (Paul Deering) will be at 613 Craven between 11 am and 1 pm. One Old Man (also known as Cliff Hopkins) will be at the Elijah Clarke House at 616 Middle Street between 11 am and 3 pm. Brian McDowell will be at the Mary B. Gordon House at 624 East Front Street from 11 am to 1 pm.  Look for Big Sam in Ghent at the Brock-Wooten House at 1402 Spencer Ave. Let them know how much you like their music!

Saturday Night Sounds

Tomorrow night you can enjoy a birthday bash for Bryan and Jason at BrUtopia. Here are the details:

Come join the fun with live music and great food! We’ve got La Cocina del Coqui lined up to feed you. Mykel Barbee (RetroMic) hit the stage at 5 pm, then The Remedy, followed by Motherload. Lisa will be behind the bar to keep you hydrated.

Over the bridge and around town you can catch The Will and Tony Show live at the Double Tree with music playing from 6-9 pm Captain Ratty's features the sounds of Hardy Wetherington from 6-9 pm. Seth Smith will perform a solo show at Poppy's & Bites with music from 6-9 pm. Legal Limit will be rocking The Garage from 7-10 pm. E-Squared debuts at Tap That with tunes from 7-10 pm. The Dust Parade will be at The Brown Pelican. sharing songs from 7-11 pm.
